Camshaft Timing Gear

The Camshaft Timing Gear is a component that connects the crankshaft and the camshaft in an engine. It can be connected by chain, gears, or a belt. The gear is marked with tiny increments corresponding to degrees of timing. The camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft. The timing gear ensures that the engine’s valves open and close at the correct times in relation to the position of the pistons
